We've been a fan of Sarsa since 2015 and we're happy when their branch in Rada Street, Makati re-opened.
We visited on a Sunday and way past lunchtime but the restaurant was still full. I guess many of us really did miss dining at Sarsa. :)
We ordered gising-gising, bistek tagalog, and isaw! OMG, how I missed the isaw at Sarsa Kitchen. Yum yum. Extra rice please, hehe.
Gising-Gising. This is Baguio beans with coconut cream, usually with ground meat as added flavor, and is very spicy. But Sarsa's gising-gising has dried shrimps and lots of garlic instead of meat and is not spicy. Although delicious, but I am craving for spicy gising-gising.
Bistek Tagalog. Now this is definitely heaven on a plate! The meat was very tender and flavorful, the sauce has a nice balance of salt, sweet, and vinegar. The garlic bits was a nice bonus flavor. Be sure to order extra rice for this. ;)
Isaw. This was the first one that comes to mind when we decided to dine at Sarsa Kitchen. A gourmet-ish version of the beloved Filipino street food. And Sarsa's isaw has a cult-following. The ones that we had though as a bit anti-climactic and bland. Maybe will order this again when they're all settled back in the kitchen.
Iced Lemongrass Tea. Another miss.
To sum it up, we did enjoy our very late lunch at Sarsa Kitchen even if there's some hiccups. Can't wait to go back and try the other dishes especially the sisig and kansi, which was both unavailable when we dined in.
