Garena Free Fire Master League Season III

GridGames.ID – Garena officially announced the holding of the Free Fire Master League (FFML) Season III tournament, Friday (15/1).

Different from the previous season, this time FFML brings a new format with two main divisions.

Division 1 is filled by 18 professional teams, while division 2 is filled by 12 amateur teams.

The division of these two divisions aims to prepare the latest generation of Indonesian esports athletes.

Especially for teams in Division 1, they will receive support worth Rp. 8.6 billion as a coaching incentive.

Meanwhile, Division 2 will focus on becoming a competitive platform for Indonesia’s new esports talent.

“Through the scheme of two national divisions, funding support for teams, as well as the tiered and sustainable tournament system that we have arranged, Garena is committed to continuing to support the esports ecosystem as an achievement sport in Indonesia,” said Director of Garena Indonesia, Hans Saleh.

FFML Season III, continued Hans, was re-made in order to produce superior seeds for esports in the country.

“Hopefully (FFML Season III) can inspire new talents in the esports world to hone their skills and talents even better,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Secretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Indonesia, Gatot S. Dewa Broto expressed his support for FFML Season III.

According to him, this national-level Free Fire tournament can be a forum for Indonesian esports athletes to make the nation’s name proud on the international stage.

“We continue to appreciate the role of the business world in sports affairs, one of which is Garena, which has consistently built the esports ecosystem in Indonesia through various tournaments and initiatives, including the Free Fire Master League Season III,” he said.

Garena’s initiative is also considered by Gatot to be in line with the Kemenpora’s plan to develop an ecosystem of domestic esports athletes.

“This is in line with the Ministry of Youth and Sports’ policy for 2021-2024 for early childhood development and planned and sustainable improvement of athlete achievement,” said Gatot.

For the FFML Season III prize, Garena has prepared a total of IDR 1.5 billion.

In addition, the FFML Season III winning team will also get tickets to compete in the Grand Finals of the Free Fire Indonesia Master 2021 Spring.

Kick off FFML Season III has started since January 13, with matches from teams in division 2.

Meanwhile, the new division 1 matches will start on January 16 next.

FFML Season III matches will be held every Saturday and Sunday starting at 19.00 WIB.

Division 1 will be held until February 27, while Division 2 will be held until February 18.
